On the forum http://www.slingshotrods.com/forum/index.php they did a contest for who could do the most Hornetbearesque post. There were many great posts (click here to see them all) but this one by FreeSpool was the winner. I made comments on all of them and they're all pretty awesome.

I love this guest report. Right off the bat it calls some kind of african antelope a yak, then shows some totally out of order shots. Total disregard for sequence, day/night, etc. Just totally all over the place then a little kid gets eaten. Sweet. My kinda report. Not all hung up about "facts" and "fishing." Excellent.

Since I have some time off of work and school, I decided to go on a several day fishing adventure. 
For the first day of the trip I decided to go kayak fishing.  So, I got my yak out.

Once the yak was loaded the sun started to come out so I paddle out as fast as I could to my first spot.

I quickly got a bite, and was treated to an amazing show of acrobatics from the elusive and rare invisible fish.

After a long day in the yak I paddled back in to find a crazy powerboater had run into the jetties. 

This gave me the idea to take the big boat out the next day.
The next day I got together with some friends for an all day and night fishing trip.
As we headed out we found a hitchhiker on the transom.  No one rides for free so we decide to make lunch out of him.

We get to our first fishing spot to fine amazingly clear water.

We see fish, but can’t get a bite so I decide to jump in and see what is going on.
As I dive in I see a few fish following me.  They came up and asked me if I had a sardine in my pocket, or if I was just happy to see them.

I quickly realized I did have a sardine in my pocket so I took it out to feed them when this guy decided he wanted the sardines for himself.

I quickly swam back up to the boat and told the other guys that there are fish down there and we should start to fish.  The first thing we did was get that no good bully shark hooked up.

After we got the shark released he swam away quickly.  Then I see two dolphins swimming weirdly around the boat.  I jump back in the water to see what they are doing.  I quickly realize that love is in the air they are doing their mating dance. (Insert porn music here)

As dark falls we decide to do some redfishing.  My buddy starts off with a giant bull red to begin the night.

Then those darn sharks showed back up, and one decided to go after the cameraman.

We made it back in the next morning to have some drunk guy grab our fish and claim we stole them from his pet turtle.

The next day I decide to take a kid fishing.  I get to the spot to find this guy there.

After he ate the first kid I changed locations and got a new kid. 

Now that my friends is a truly American fishing trip.

This post is a little straight for my liking but an alligator was indeed caught on a skitterwalk which pretty much qualifies the report as exotic. Nice job on catching the wily gator. More importantly, how did you unhook him? SUBMITTED BY MEDICMAN

Pre fished Sunday with mike and rob. 1st off Rob needs to change his name from scissorshands to Captain Rob because the guy can drive a boat. I'm totally serious when I say that. Mike and Rob are a good team and work very well together.

Now as far as fishing goes we were looking to establish a pattern. And we learned that the pattern was not: topwater, spinner baits, crank baits, or soft plastics. We also learned that the fish were not at: the marsh, deep reefs, rock pils, or the jetties. So all in all we learned what they needed to learn. I have a feeling if the weather keeps up as it is Mike and Rob will do very well and surprize a lot of people.
Mike did catch a slam albeit two of the three were under sized. He did catch a fat 22" trout that weighed 3lb 14oz. I caught a alligator on a skitter walk. I will post pictures later tonight.
Thanks Slingshot and Captain Rob I had a great day on the water.

We put him in the livewell for awhile but he was going nuts so we went rock paper scissors to see who would reach in and get him. Mike and I each threw rock and of course Rob threw scissors. After that I think Rob might have to change his name to Scissorhand.

Aug 21, 2007 - Guest Report From Flounderboy - Lizard - Bass - Bluefish - Cow

Well there's some underwear wearin' photos in this report which aren't usually the direction I go with a fishin' report but, all in all, Flounderboy takes a nice scattergun approach to the traditional fishing report.  I like the land animals and the hippy shots are very strong as well. Flounder Boyz Excellent Adventure

I woke up late for day on the water only to find this guy guarding my rods in the garage.



Oh well, he looked a lot tougher than me so I let him have them for the day and decided to try again the next day, so I decided to play some golf instead. 

My team won the golf bet,  but this was as close to hooters as we could get, dont ask questions, just go along!



Finally got to the fishin hole and was greeted by a magnificent sunrise, i think!



I must of made a wrong turn at Albuquerque cuz I wound up at Toledo Bend with this lovely lady



She was outfishing me and talking trash



So i thoughtfully called her my little turtle dove in my most loving voice.  I was promptly shown what a turtle was and that she in no way resembled this creature!



Her body guard made sure I understood!



I back tracked to Albuquerque and corrected my directions and finally made it to the salt to find this guy on his way to outfishing me as well!







I found a local and asked for help in learning how to fish.  He just laughed and gave me some lip service.  I flipped him off and tried to leave.



Then the thing dared me to get out of the boat.  I thought, I bet I can take him so I accepted the challenge and was met by his sibling gangstas.


 
Time to GO!

I made the trip back to chase a green trout and damn if i didnt snag this fella!

All in all it was a good day, just look at the reward!

Any timy you see animals copulating it's absolutely critical to take a picture and post it on the internet.  Flounder Boy has really improved the internet by having a fishing report with a picture of some lizards screwing. Thank you for that. Darn nice job. This is just another fine report from Texas which really showcases how small the fish can be out there. The contest @ Mr. Transmission is another super classic shot.

Got to the GYB for some powerboat fishing and was met by the fish police!

I thought what the heck and invited the oinker out for some fishin.  That was a bad move cuz we didnt catch no stinkin fishes!  (in my coolest bandito voice)

Went home to get the yak and found this sex show going on in my backyard

What was most shocking was that this little guy was gettin an eye full

Loaded up the yack and went fishing and actually caught some fish






I pulled a tom hanks and got stranded on this island in the middle of no where



I found Wilson of movie fame floating around.  I shared the story about the sex show while I was taking a break.  Oh, yeah did I mention Wilson was eating Cheetos at the time!



I made my way around the saved this guy from being eaten by a very large Redfish!

Ended the day and on the way home, I found these two guys bragging about catchin some fish in some rinky dink neighborhood watch fishing tournament.



(ok, this was a blatent shot at sucking up to slingy for a slingshot fishin rod)

Good day on the water all ways ends with a beautiful sunset!

Rock solid offshore report by Texan superangler FreeSpool. Though this is typically a kayak fishing venue you gotta love hippy shots aboard a boat that gets 2 miles to the gallon. Nice report and some species you don't really see inshore. Tight.

Who says offshore fishing is for big boats and strong backs?  On Friday a few friends and I decided to make a run offshore.  This seams not so out of the ordinary, except we decided to run almost 100 miles out in a 23 ft single engine center console.  Smart? I think not, but to win big you have to bet big or just dumb.  We loaded up the boat with our light tackle rigs and headed out before the sun got up. 
We started across the bay to the pass with the sun just being a forethought.

As we made it out the pass to see all the tankers lined up, the sun said “hello” with a gift of smooth seas.

We headed to our targeted fishing hole, when we spotted an allusion in distance.  After we stopped admiring the amazing cloud formations we realized a storm was a brewing.

With the passing of the storm came the happy sign of a great day to come. Oh a rainbow, how sweet it is.
Adjust screen for best viewing, or do whatever it is you hippies do to make it look cool.

On our way out we stop at a weed patch to find a giant bull dolphin swimming around the boat.  My buddy drops a red jerk bait in front of the ~35 lbs Dorado to have him grab it and take off.  After giving us an aerial show he breaks the line.  We commence to harass my friend for loosing the trophy fish. 

Once we arrive at our intended location we find several shrimp boats.  We trade a case of beer for a 50lbs bag of fresh gulf shrimp, so we can at least take something home. 
After we already pulled out half the bag to boil up at the dock this was still left.

We started to drop baits down when the flat line start to scream.  Then other lines start to go off. Next thing we know we have lines going everywhere.  I get mine to the boat to find a kingfish begging to get in the boat. 

When I turn to get a hand I notice everyone is busy so I decide to gaff and boat my own fish. 

Continuing to fish we load up the cooler with all kinds of fish.  We then start to see some surface action behind the boat.  As my buddy cast back a bait, it gets skyrocketed on.  We get it to the boat to find a barracuda attached to his line.

We sit back after a long day of hard fishing to admire the beauty of being almost 100 miles offshore and finding bay like waters. 

We made it back to dock late after have a “Rob” like boat problem and running out of oil for our two stoke motor.  Luckily the coast guard was nice enough to give us 2 quarts of oil so we could make it to the marina and get more.

Overall the day was a success with 8 snapper, 8 kings, 3 cobias, 3 “B-liners”, and an amberjack,

This is a classic tale that includes all the elements of a kayak fishing report. Driving rain. Comedic insterion of one fish into another fishes' mouth. Person losing kayak in wind. It's got it all. This report was submitted by the mysterious Texas angler Fishin' Hippy who is probably wearing a tyedye next to his van as we speak. Read on!

Me and a couple buddies headed down to the water for some good old fashion Texas fishin. It was a beautiful sunrise as we arrived to the water. Feast your eyes on this sunrise!


We get to the launch, and start unloading the kayaks, when we see this power boater laughing at us. I was afraid he would break my camera but risked the shot anyhow. See how he is sticking his tongue at us. it was a sign of things to come!


My buddy, being the upbeat guy that he is, tell me to blow him off. He said just give him a thumbs up and all will be well. Dude. powerboats suck!


We head to our spot and the first thing we notice is all the bait in the water. you know your chances are good when ya see this under ya.


My buddy is the first to hook into something. and it is a big something! After a lengthy battle this beast comes to the surface. Honestly, He was gonna keep it but I told him they are kinda wormy. I know this sure make me hungry!


After we sent him on his way, and I hook into another monster! This fish pulls me all over the place. I thought I had the fish of the lifetime! It stays deep and starts going in circles. round and round under the kayak. Dude. It's a giant flounder. no dude. it's a manhole cover!. Nope. wrong again!


So now we are looking up at the sky and we see dark clouds approaching. This is not the kinda thing you want to see when your on an island 4 miles away from the shore.


15 minutes later. the rain has arrived and we take shelt under a collapsed house.


My buddy give my the thumbs up again. but somehow his enthusiam is somewhat diminshed. yea. it's raining. it sux! Why don't you stick that thumb where the sun don't shine. and get me a beer!


After sitting there for a while the rain finally let's up and we head back. It was a long row for this guy, and after his buddy's kayak was blown away by the gale force winds. but he made the most of the bad situation.


I call this "coon on the rocks"


I call this "The Last Supper" well actually it was his last supper and my next!


Whoa dude. check this out!. it's a sunset. and a pile of sand. Do these things just spring up outta the beach? Trippy.
